Cincinnati Snake Removal & Control
At Animal Remover we provide safe, humane, reliable, and effective snake removal, trapping, control and exclusion. If you have a snake or a family of snakes living on your property or in your basement, we can provide the services to remove them and keep them out in the future. There is no snake problem that we can’t handle. Snakes are excellent climbers and will assess construction gaps on your home to gain access into your attic and basement. If a litter of snakes is successfully raised on your property, they will return year after year to birth their young.
There are approximately 120 species of snakes in North America, 17 of which are venomous. Snakes live in a variety of habitats – some on land, and some in water. All snakes are carnivorous and will feed on a variety of prey, which they swallow whole. Snakes will eat animals that are not greater than 3 times the girth or the thickest part of their body. Snakes can prove beneficial in reducing rodent populations.

PHYSICAL SNAKE REMOVAL:
The most certain snake removal technique is to physically remove them from the area. This is the technique that we most specialize in. If a snake is on the property, we come and remove it. We might catch it by hand or use a tool such as a snake hook or snake tongs. We put the snake in a snake sack, remove it from the property and relocate it far away from the capture site. This technique eliminates the problem with the known snake on the property, but of course, there may be more snakes or a new one may come onto the property.
There are several snake prevention techniques. The easiest, and perhaps the best, is habitat modification. The snakes are on your property because something is attracting them to that area. The most likely attractants are cover and foliage. If your property is home to a lot of debris and thick plants, it will attract snakes. Snakes love to hide under things such as large rocks, woodpiles, and sheds. If you eliminate the clutter, trim back weeds, and seal all the gaps that snakes would like to use for shelter, you’re more likely to keep snakes away. A good rat or mouse control program will also help to eliminate snake problems. Another more extreme means of snake prevention is the installation of an underground fence around the perimeter of the property.
Trapping snakes is also an option for snake removal. We can set specially designed traps on your property to trap the snakes. Trapping is a very good option when you've only seen a snake a few times, but it never sticks around long enough to be physically removed.
Many different kinds of snake repellents are sold at reputable stores, but we’ve been to numerous properties where multiple repellents have failed. Some stores sell predator urine, such as coyote or fox urine to get rid of snakes, but it does not keep snakes away. Some stores sell Ultrasonic sound emitters, claiming to deter all animals, but they do not work for snake removal. Other techniques such as using human hair, rags soaked in ammonia, or mothballs don’t work either.
HOW TO GET RID OF SNAKES:
If you have a snake inside your house, it must be physically removed. We provide a 24 hour emergency snake removal service. We can remove the snake by hand or set traps to catch the snake if it’s gone by the time we arrive. But removing the snake is not enough. We must also find out how the snake got into the house and seal any entry points. Snakes can climb, swim, and crawl so it's important to seal the entire home. This is also a good strategy for keeping out other critters such as mice, rats, and chipmunks.
